Hi guys,

Is there anyone here who knows from a reliable source if FARR Bf-109Gs were restricted to 1.3ata instead of 1.42ata (manifold pressure) in first half of '43 (or maybe a longer period)?
Thanks.

Tough question indeed. I doubt anyone can answer it, unless he/she looks up the pertinent documents in the military archives - if they still exist, of course.

Tough question indeed. I don't see the reason for such a restriction.
Well, the 109 (and IAR's) used the german manifold pressure dial.
I put a picture of it here, from the Il-2 game manual.
1) Russian 2) German 3) American

Only if there have installed the DB-605 AS/AM or AMS engines, what from what I know, have not had. But who knows! ...maybe the planes were captured and used by the Gr 9 VT. in the western campaign in Czechoslovakia, they assembled the plant MW-50?! An example can be the G-6 to the number 14 red. But my belive is cause they never used anymore.

Corection:
"Only if there have installed the DB-605 AS/AM or AMS engines the limitation of manifold presure was over 1.42 ata., ..."

DB-605 A-1 engine have the limitation max. 3 min. at 2750 rot./min. with 1.42 ata..
