VVS Martin bombers

Plutonier major Group: Members Posts: 335 Member No.: 53 Joined: July 22, 2003	I am once again off topic, (that's why i write on this forum). In his memoirs the famous Stuka pilote HU Rudel is speaking that at the beggining of Barbarossa campaign he and his coleagues saw many bombers on different Soviet airfields. Some were "obsolete Martins"; so i was wanderring which Martin??? Should it be the Baltimore that the French had??? Or another type??? I know that the memoirs aren't a very accurate source but who knows... Thanks for your understanding Bm

It's name originated from the Spanish civil war, where the Republicans originally thought the "Natashas" being supplied by the USA, hence the nick-name 'Martin bomber'. Dénes
