The americans also had a jet fighter project: the Lockheed F-80 \"Shoothing Star\"!

Not only the Americans, but also the Italians had a jet project. Even the Japanese built two jets starting from German plans. On http://history.acusd.edu/gen/WW2Timeline/jets.html you can find the chronology and photos of the various WWII jet projects.

The Italian project I mentioned above was slightly different from a true jet. You can find a comparison between the British and German projects and the Italian one on http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/histo...ory/q0144.shtml

What about the Ba 349-Natter? This was a strange weapon/vehicle indeed...it was a rocket plane. http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/...%20349%20Natter
The first rocket airplane designed by Germany was the Me 163 "Komet". What do you think of it?

The 163 killed more German pilots then allies...
I belive he had two or three vict.
The fuel sistem was volatile and very dangerous. His pilots were sort of Kamikaze laugh.gif
THe Bahem was a stupidity, made partialy from wood, and could not land. The pilot was to bail out.
Much more interesting is the He 162 Salamander or the Arado 234.
If you are looking for interesting stuff make a Google serch on "Luft 46" and see all secret projects and find that most airplanes that flew after the war and till those days are derivats from those projects.

I guess most of the projects are included on the site: Luft '46 - WWII German aircraft projects

As I can see from Luft'46 a huge part of the projects went for the "flying wing" design instead of the traditional airplane body with wings and tail. What are the performances which are increased in this type of aircraft? (the flying wing)

Reduced drag (but at the expense of stability).

I was asking myself, if secret weapons - advanced technology was included in german arsenal early in the war, a dog fight Me-262 (or first jet fighter ) vs. I-16 ... resulted whith a victory for jet, or for clasic ? I bet a chance for russian pilot, at low speed, low altitude, and some lucky shot in jet propulsor.

Interesting. There are few examples in history were a technologically inferior/outdated weapon system managed to beat a modern one at equal command/training ability. Barren exceptional circumstances.

I can think of the Swiss pike formation which was a kind of resurrected phalanx that crushed the cavalry that crushed the legion that crushed the phalanx :rollroll:

Germans have and use in Sevastopol battle a giant gun(calibre arround 800-900mm)and have to special artilery rounds,155mm calibre who was special build to destroy deep ground bunckers or fortifications(idea was taken by americans and used in present day). And germans invented and produced to the neuro-paralitic chemical weapons(sarin, soman, tabun). If they equiped the V-2 with this, will be a masacre in London and south England.Hitler dont do this because belive the allies haved to this weapons, but if the war not ended in spring of 1945 and allies use the atomic bomb against germans, and they reply with this, who know how will ended the war and with what consecuinces.I believe we do a great thing we switch the sides and quick the end of war with less 6 months. And another thing, germans U-boat,especially newest versions, was able to reach US coast, but unfortunately was to late for Kriegs marine.

Hehehehe! Indrid's post in that topic gave him another point under his nickname. It was offffffff-tttttttttttopicccccccc!!! Hihihihihi! Because this is not his domain, not a political one, where to say "i think..." - it is a more technicall topic. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

And not only with artilery, and special artilery - rockets. Hitler had some seaplanes with long range - in a one way japanese style mission, USA may be bombed with chemical loads. Maybe USA have ned an equivalent for "carpet bombing" against his cittys with incendiary bombs.

How about AA missiles of 3rd Reich? Begining with Wasserfall, and ending with guided ones...
A long period war may become different with a introduction of SAM batteries.

Brit's or yank's have equivalent sistems?

I doubt that guided SAMs could be produced without transistors, a technology that was far away from Germany. The "guided" missles used by the Luftwaffe against the Supermarina were a much different thing from what was needed to intercept and hit an enemy aircraft.
