I learned today that in the same day with the invasion, took place the uprising in Warsaw.
The Germans were inhuman;they took out of hospitals sick people and machinegunned them. They got orders to kill everyone. The Polish fighters expected help from the Soviets, who were at the suburbs of the city, but those stoped advancing and even bombarding the German positions. Sorry about the brave Polish fighters, but it was sort of a punischment for the same think they did around a year early, when the jewish getto made a desparate uprise against the Germans, and did fine. They asked for help from the Polish resistent but didn't get. |

The 1944 Warsaw Uprising took place in August and September of that year and the day that you are reffering is August 5th called the blackest day in Warsaw History. The Dirlewanger and the Kaminski Brigade decided to killed everyone. A mass executions of approximately 65 000 civilians! Poles, without regard for age or gender, were rounded up house by house and shot. More than 1 360 patients and staff of Vola and St. Lazarus hospitals were murdered.
