I'd like to know if possible, the abbreviations (in romanian) of several units:

for example...
1st Mountain Brigade
2nd Mountain Division
15th Calarasi Regiment
15th Dorobanti Regiment
18th Infantry Division
9th Rosiori Regiment

many thanks for any replies biggrin.gif

Some abbreviations are as follows (examples):

3rd Army = A3®
Mountain Corps = C.M-te®
4th Mountain Division = D.4M-te®
Cavalry Corps = C.Cv®
2nd Mountain Brigade = Bg.2M-te®
3rd Army Corps = C3A
18th Infantry Division = D.18 I
1st Motorized Detachment = Dt.M.1

I know I haven't answered your questions regarding the specific units you were looking for, but this can give you an idea of the naming/abbreviation convention.

P.S. The ® symbol is optional and stands for "romanian". It was used in maps to differentiate between german and romanian units having similar names.

Hope this helps.

from the diary of Constantin Isarescu, intelligence officer for the 3rd Dorobanti Regiment
( http://www.itcnet.ro/history/archive/mi199...rrent6/mi49.htm ) :

"In seara zilei de 29 aprilie, R. 3D (Regimentul 3 Dorobanti) executa recunoasteri în vederea fortarii râului Vah, între Priles si Trenc Tepla, un râu de talia Oltului, cu viteza de scurgere a apei foarte mare."

so it's R. 3D
