When I went to France and i wanted to buy a drink, I asked the guy from the bar in english and he just did not want to talk to me. I had to find out how to tell him in french. :x

When (and where) have you been to France? I have visited France several times and generally I did not have any problem using English. At most I could not make myself understood to one person, but this happened quite seldom. Anyhow I cannot remember experiencing total shut-down because of the use of English.
