I was contacted by a person from Germany who asked me to try to find out something on a battle that took place on 23 or 24 August 1944 in the Onesti (Bacau) area between German and Romanian troops on one side and Russians on the other:

situation seems to have been rather complex as Romanian commanders pressed
by the military disaster and the news from Bucuresti probably were in doubt
