On the 9th of May 2007, at the National Military Museum was inaugurated a small temporary exhibition “130 years of the Proclamation of Romania’s Independence. 1877-2007”. On this occasion, there was a short commemoration ceremony and wreath deposition at the Museum monument. This was made by the famous Romanian sculptor Oscar Han and was dedicated to the officers and men of the 21st Infantry Regiment “Ilfov” nr.IV, who died in the 1877-78 and 1913 campaigns. The regiment was garrisoned in the today Museum building and Oscar Han was a soldier of that unit.

The ceremony was performed by a squad of the “6th Dorobantzes” association, dressed in 1877-78 uniforms. They presented arms and fire a honour volley with M. 1879 “Henry-Martini” rifles. Two artillerymen also fired a M. 1891 bronze gun.

The ceremony was held in presence of their Royal Highnesses Princess Margareta and Prince Radu.

This event was a preamble of the “Military Museum Days” of 19th-20th May, 2007.
