Hi everybody. I have an austro-hungarian bronze medal " The Crown Jubilee Medal of 1898" celebrating 50 years since Franz Josef started ruling Austro-Hungaria. You can see it here:www.medal-medaille.com/index.php?cPath=31
I was wondering if you have any idea where i could find a ribbon for it.

It dependes if its version for civil or armed forces...

I also want to buy one, like one in the picture. It belonged to a person in my family, I have only the medal.

There was a guy selling reproduction Austrian K.u.K period Ribbons

in Brasov last year at the Collectors Day,

I will be there on the 19th July and will see if he has any.

They are not so expensive, but of a slightly thicker material than the original.

But they look good for displays.

The ribbon on the medal on the link you provided is incorrect, there was no ribbon for the "widows of soldiers killed " for the Austrian medal, and certainly not the Nazi WW2 ribbon for the 13 March 1938 Occupation of Austria Medal.

One is the for military the other for Civil issue, from my own collection.

New Connaught Ranger: I am sorry, but you are wrong... Both medals you have are civil issues.. Only the red ribbon there is incorrect.. should be white-red ribbon too....
Claudiu1988: If you want a copy ribbon, it is much cheaper if you buy it in Romania, only postal costs from Slovakia to Romania will be higher as the price of copy.... If you want original, wait one day, tomorrow I will get photo of that ribbon and U can write if you want it or not...

the Civil Medal and the Military Medal.

The Jubilee Medal for the 50th Anniversary of the Kaiser's reign (1848-1898),

commonly called the "Signum Memoriae" medal.

For military personnel it is all red.

The civil version is half red / half white.

It is THE TEXT ON FRONT SIDE OF MEDAL!!!

Civil: FRANC.IOS.I.D.G.IMP.AVST.REX BOH.ETC.ET REX AP.HVNG
Military: FRANC.IOS.I.D.G.IMP.AVSTR.REX.BOH.ETC.AC.AP.REX.HVNG

See the difference?

I need to see pictures of this, difference, as I can find no reference to it anywhere or in my books. And you are contradicting information that has been written about these medals.

But, I do know, that the K.u.K Austro-Hungarian Empire utilized the same exact same medals, but with different ribbons for more than one purpose.

It is in czech language, but with english, german, french and russian resume...

I think it is no problem to get the military version, they are more common then civil... I have 3 free peaces if you want...

It means (civil): Franc Josef I. Dei gratia rex imperator avstrie, rex bohemiae, etc. et apostolic rex hungarie - franc josph I., of gods will emperor of austria, king of bohemia (czech), etc. and apostolic king of hungary...
on military its the same text, but using not word ET (and) but word AC. that means the same...
