Sorin Tulea, Biography

General Medic Group: Hosts Posts: 2453 Member No.: 19 Joined: June 23, 2003	Personaly,I never met Sorin Tulea. Once I called him,and he didn't had his hearing aparatus working and couldn't hear me. Time has passed,and I wanted to visit him with a pacient of mine who is a family friend. Again ,we couldn't coordonate and at the end it happened the same as with Carol Anastasescu and Chera Dumitru (I did met him but only for 30 min). General Medic Group: Hosts Posts: 2453 Member No.: 19 Joined: June 23, 2003	During the Krimeea campain,Sorin Tulea with a German propaganda oficer,took a light plane and flew over the battl field in order to take photos. They recived two MP 40,from the Germans.Being shoot over Krimeea could be certain death if caught by soviet partisans.

From Iuly 1937-22 Iun. 1980 ,but with an interuption from May 44-August 45-due to a wia and from April 48-Iun.64-imprisoned by comunists,he made 260 sorties to the mountains. Acording to Victor he was one of the top alpinists,and broke many records. I'll post some of his sorties written by him in special jurnal (one of many). 1.July 1932 Predeal-Piatra Mare-?-Timisul de sus.Cu familiile Ghemulet,Dumitrescu,Sergescu. 4.2-6 July 1933 Scropoasa-Bolboci-Pestera-Obarsia_Omul-Costila_Jepi-Piatra Arsa_Sinaia. Cu Mircea Casassovici si Georgel Hancu-Viscol Puternic pe drum. La Omul zapada de 4 m. Ne primeste cabanierul Gh. Stanila 13. 15-28 July 1934 Zarnesti-Grind-Lanturi-Plaiul Foii-Creasta Fagarasului pana la Negoiu-Sibiu cu Tudor Nenitescu,Bebe si Mimi Borel-Timp bun insa la Moldoveanu furtuna colosala noaptea.Dormim intr-un bordei. 39.Paste 1936 Sambata De Sus la cabana SKV tabara de sky cu Tudor Nenitescu,Nuky Scully Loghoteti Costy ,Tico,Genuta Teohari. You could at least chose some of the really difficult stuff he has done, not what you posted. I have done some of the stuff you posted. Even you can. (pushed and dragged

The first one is in the Piatra Mare Massif, the sceond one is the Bucegi and the last is in Piatra Craiului and then Fagaras.

Tulea a facut parte din generatia cataratorilor romani interbelici, fiind
coleg de coarda cu Baticu cu care, de altfel are multe asemanari:
- amandoi au iubit alpinismul si zborul;
- amandoi au fost piloti de aviatie in al II-lea razboi mondial: unul la
cercetare si celalalt la bombardament;
- amandoi au fost inchisi politic 16 ani si...
- amandoi au scris cate o carte de amintiri: "Amintirile unui alpinist" (N.
Baticu), "Amintiri din razboaie neterminate (S. Tulea).
- amandoi aveau in lucru si cate o carte despre cealalta pasiune: Baticu
despre aviatie iar Tulea despre alpinism;

Sorin Tulea a facut parte din echipa care a batut in anii 40, "Trei
Surplombe", primul traseu de gr. 5 din Romania, alaturi de N. Baticu, E.
Cristea si G. Niculescu.
A fost un pasionat fotograf, autor al multor fotografii interbelice cu
cataratori romani.

O data cu disparitia acestuia, generatia interbelica, a primilor cataratori
romani, se rarefiaza si mai mult...
