The trip made by Rossvelt was the first US presidential visit in the Middle East. He met also with the kings of Egypt and Etiopia.
Roosvelt and Abdul Aziz discussed about oil extraction, the establishment of a US base in Saudi Arabia, weapons and training for the saudi army and, of course, the problems in Palestine.
It was the first US major involvement in the area and had worried the british.

Well, Abdul Aziz equals oil; oil equals industry! Should I say more?
If so, Abdul Aziz seems to have been aided by the CIA in the 1950's AND to have aided CIA himself in their operations. Perhaps this photo of the meeting was one of the first (and early) steps towards cooperation.
