This was posted on a gaming forum several days ago. Does anybody have an idea of what exactly this represents? There are obviously two German tanks followed by German infantry, but who are the ones closest to the camera? Do they look like Russians to you?user posted image

Their helmets and uniforms look Soviet. So do the rifles and bayonets.

I don't like this picture... you said it was posted on a gamming forum. Looks like a fake/staged pic to me. First of all the german tanks are close enough to to the russians ant still there are russians alive. I mean, wouldn't be locical for the tank crews to kill the russians from a greater range thus, preventing any surprises? or at least try to scatter the russians with cannon and MG fire, forceing them to hide for cover. And second, ... the german soldiers behind the tanks walk like they are in a park rather than a battlefield,... I mean, they seem to be assaulting some kind of village/building complex, they are sitting ducks for any enemy defender.
But again the russians in the road look dubious to me... : you don't stay on an open road (with cover just near you) while towards you come 2 enemy panzers and a lot of not so friendly ppl. armed with guns and sharpened ojects smile.gif
The pics looks staged to look like dramatical fighting scene... but it's irrealistic.

Agree. It looks like the Soviets (barel and wall included) & Germans are part of separate pictures that were merged. Different grain. And yes, those soldiers are way too close to behave like they do.

Maybe is just a diorama made with plastic models and treated with a photomanipulation software.

To all the things mentioned above I would have to add the lack of perspective of the person(s) who created this photo (look for example at the inconsistencies in the relative size of the soldiers in successive planes).
