Hello from Czech Republic.

My uncle is doing research about Romanian troops taking part in liberation of region around our village.

Here is exact location:

http://mapy.cz/#mm=ZTtTcP@sa=s@st=s@ssq=hruba vrbka@sss=1@ssp=113826924_122728140_156753004_156626636@x=139780096@y=131422208@z=9

We would appreciate any maps and information about units acting in this region.

If there were some articles about these units, it would be best.

Thank you for any info.

This name doesn't appear in a comprehensive book about the topic.
What was the German name of the village? Is there a larger locality nearby?

In German it could be "Gross Vurbka".

I posted link to maps.

Maybe "Veseli nad Moravou" or "Straznice" would help you, but I don't know their German names.

Maybe "Veseli nad Moravou" or "Straznice" would help you, but I don't know their German names.

I found an entry for Stráznice:
Corpul 4 and 7 armata was active in the Stráznice-Vesely area (Louka zone, Height 328 and Suchov) on 12-13 April 1945. The enemy counter-attacked 9 times, so there was no progress made by the Rumanians.

Wow, that was quite a fight if the enemy had to counteratack so many times. The romanian resistance must been strong.

Thank you for your replies.

I'd like to ask one more question.

Is there some article about these army groups:

3. Risiori regiment
13. Calarasi regiment
38. Inf. regiment Neagoe basarab
33. Inf. regiment Tulce

? I did some Google search, of course, but maybe You have some more info.

Thank you.

The first two regiments are from the 9th Cavalry Division and the latter two are from the 10th Infantry Division.

Although it is very unlikely, is somebody able to recognize them?

Photo was taken before one of their attacks in our region.
