WorldWar2.ro Forum > Romanian Royal Navy > Need help - is this the Friponne?

Perhaps you can help me. This ship, named Eugen Stihi is anchored in Mangalia. The design tells me it's rather old and I searched some info on it. I found there were 4 french gunboats that were loaned and then sold, I think, to Romania. Among them the Friponne, built in 1916 which became Eugen Stihi. Is this the same ship?
This would make it one of the oldest ships afloat, certainly in Romania if not the entire world, quite a find.
Also if you have further information on this ship i would appreciate it as it is rather scarce. For example, I wasn't able to find another image of it to compare it.

Many thanks. I don't know why this didn't turn up in google, I guess it was too far back.
