| Janes 1924 firstly listed 6 ex Russian floatting batteries on Danube. They are still listedin Jane 1934, not listed Jane 1936, later pre WW II Jane does not listed small Romanian vessels. They are still listed by Les Flottes de Combat 1940.
I have the following floatting batteries of the Russian Danube flotilla which were later taken by the Romanian forces: K2 ex N.435 landing barge built Nicolaev 255t K7 ex Romanian barge left at Danube Februar 1918 K9 ex Romanian barge left at Danube Februar 1918 K10 ex Romanian barge left at Danube Februar 1918 K11 ex Romanian barge left at Danube Februar 1918 K12 ex Romanian barge left at Danube Februar 1918 K13 ex Romanian barge left at Danube Februar 1918 K14 ex Romanian barge left at Danube Februar 1918 Perheps somebody knows origins and fates of these barges (all said to be selfpropelled) Any fates and origins ? Where they still operational during WW II ? |

| Al these bateries were left on the Danube by the bolshevics when they abandonned the front in 1918 and went home under the propaganda of the revolution. For a short perioe were seized by the Germans, but when the Romanian Army restart the operations under French help and guidance, they were all rearmed. The Peace Conference and Treaty of Versailles gave them to Romania.
There were two types, designed by Russian Naval Engineers. One of selfpropelled and had two guns Obuhov of 120 mm and the second type had only one gun Obuhov of 155 mm and was not self propelled. On the 23rd of June 1941, Soviet bombers destroyed the last 4 in use at Pardina. |

| Was the self propelled one a former "Russad" class landing barge? Also, can anyone point me to photos or drawings of any of these craft?

| Yes they are, there was an article on Russian landing barges in SUDOSTROENIE some time ago (in 1980s ??).

| Before the end of the First WW on the Danube, in 1917 there were abandonned by the retreating Russian forces three types of bages.
One was selpropelled with two turrets of 120 mm, both ahead the command and funnel. I have a picture on one of them in front of Galatzi, under Romanian flag. A second type was a barge with only one gun of 155 mm Obuhov. I have a very good picture aboard with the gun and crew in 1928 at Cernavoda. Besides these two artillery barges there was a landing craft as the one in the drawing you have here, but with some alterations as a picture of 1921 shows. |

| Russian floatting batteries in their natural purpose-landing craft vessels named 'Bolinder's (name of motor) have ONE!!! 152mm kane(Obuhovskii zavod) or 203mm guns!I have reconstruction pics of they(from books Russian river flotilias,Enciklopedia of river ships,Russian imperial navy) I have big interes of pics of bolinder armed two guns  send me in e-mail please! |
