Rumanian Navy had 3 British torpedo boat before 22 VI 1941, I am looking some data about their history (when Rumania did buy them?) and general information about thier armament, crews, service.

| British "Vospers" 72-foot type МТВ-20, 21 and 23, sold Romania in 1940
1. № 1 "Viforul" was lost in 1941
2. № 2 "Vijelia" was lost in 1941
On November, 9 1941 transport Ungvar, following with a cargo of an ammunition and gasoline accompanied by boats Viforul and Vijelia from Sulin to Odessa, was undermined on a mine. After a vessel has plunged, on it there was an explosion of an ammunition and both boats, engaging in rescue people, also were lost.
3. № 3 "Viscolul" on August, 20 1944 it is damaged by the Soviet aircraft and on September, 5 1944 it is seized by the USSR in Constanta.

| On 5 April 1942, the dredging tug "A", under the command of asp. Gheorghe Rusu, was patrolling between Tuzla and Mangalia. At 0530 hours it picked up a signal in its hidrophones and alarmed the Navy's Command. The NMS Viscolul MTB was sent to assist it. At 0918 hours, the tug obtained detected the submarine with more accuracy and launched two series of depth charges. Bubbles and oil spots appeared on the surface. At 0930 hours, the MTB also launched several charges at the indicated location. After this, no further sounds were detected.
It could have been Sc-210 that was missing from 12 March 1942. One theory, however, is that Sc-210 was sunk by a mine.

I suppose that possible reason of sending Esc. 53 Van to Mamaia was connected with this that Hurricanes had very similar engine (Merlin III) like Rumanian ex-British MTBs' Vosper class.
Being focused mostly on Hurricanes in ARR service (they were incorporated in costal air defence system) I would like to confirmed this hypotesis too
In Constanca were MTBs also navy depot and air unit can use navy workshops support in mainatenace of combat plane.
I wonder if I am right.
PS in 3 month should be edited in Poland my story about "Hurricanes over Constanca and Odessa in 1941.". Text only Polshi no even English captions.

No Mirek I don't think so.
The main reason for 53sq Hurricanes at Mamaia ( on the sea shore) is the perspective of a forcelanding on water where the Hurricane is better suited and also the life-saving Mae West delivered toghether with the planes.

| The last romanian Vosper MTB "Viscolul" (The Blizzard), ex british "MTB-23", buyed 1940. Seized Sept.5 1944 in Constanta, in Sov.Ch.F. Sept.14 as „ТК-955”, then Sept.22 1945 returned. Del. 50's.

The image attached is not representative of the type used by the Romanian Navy.
Try to find the book "Romanian Navy Torpedo-Boats" By cristian Craciunoiu for photos, drawings and info on these boats.
Another good book for drawings and photos of the Vospers sold to Romania, before they were delivered, as well as drawings, is "Allied coastal Forces, Vol. 2" by Lambert and Ross. This book also cover the experimental series of "whaleback" Elco boats, known in Romania as the "English electric" or "Gusto", but it covers only the experimental types, not the type sold to Romania (the hull geometry is the same)

| Yes, the two photos of MTB22 and TTB23 appear in the book "Allied Coastal Forces, Vol. 2" by Lambert and Ross and show the Vospers during trials in the UK before they were delivered.
I really recommend Cristian Craciunoiu's book.
