I heard that there will be a battle between 2 RC tanks at 1:16th scale and that if the Kettenkrad will be functional you guys will patrol with it. Are those just rumours?

Posted by: mihnea April 25, 2008 06:19 pm
Unfortunately the museum has no Kettenkrad's so none will be used also the KS750 isn't yet functional.

But there will be two RC tanks.

What tanks are named "RC tanks"?

Posted by: mihnea April 25, 2008 07:34 pm
One is a M41A3 WALKER BULLDOG and the other a german Tiger, 1/16 scale, obviously remote controlled.

Remote Control Model Tanks

Sounds like the ones being sold last year in a certain chain of Romanian Petrol Stations.

The Tiger was mega cool looking, the Bulldog from post WW2 era used in Vietnam.

Hallo Gents,

great pictures, please post more,

can somebody explain the gold bars,

worn on the ribbon of the Military Merit Medal?

Hopefully all had fun despite the "feeding" problems to the machine gun in the film clip

Just came back.
Very nice!
Like I told Kepi, each year is getting better.
I also met Sturmpioneer, who was very well equiped.
I'll try posting some photos.
Doesn't work./....

I was there today allso. I second C-2, the event really is getting better with every passing year. I wish to congratulate everyone involved, and let's hope that you will be able to attract a more and more diversified international participation in the following years.

Indeed, and this one takes the cake:

http://www.mapn.ro/fotodb/20080511/6_Uniforme_din_timpul_Razboiului_de_Independenta

I see nothing in the way of "Independence War uniforms". Just two WW1 artillerymen, a Bulgarian Stormtrooper, a WW2 MG team, one Crimean War British Officer and a Highlander...

Anyway, this year's festivities were, in my humble opinion, the best ones yet, and I am deeply honoured to have been part of it.

Three cheers for the National Military Museum and all the people who dedicated a lot of time and effort into this event!

Hip hip, Hurray!

I just put Eric to sleep and I can write more.
Like all already wrote,it was nicer and more relaxing then previos years.
Kepi did a very good job by coordonating most of the activities.
Cristian did his job ,as usual ,with the firearms. That was the Cherry on the cake, like in all years.
Visitors of all ages had a lot of fun.
And fun was the intention...

Also I was suprise to see a flag with a swastica, and some modern days officers with big roung abdomens, that wouldn't fit any army in the world. A few weeks on field could do miracles on them.

With regards the last photo, dramatic looking, but, in reality the Panzer-faust would not kill the tank at such close range, but, the user would not survive such a "close encounter of the panzer type" tongue.gif

It's strage to see a WW1 bulgarian stormtrooper ("Sturmpionier" - our bulgarian friend on this Forum), trying to stop a German Panzer IV of WW2, with a Panzerfaust "Klein"... smile.gif

Indeed I was a Bulgarian WW1 Stormtrooper during the show, dressed in a repro Bulgarian M1915 summer uniform and equiped with German M16 helmet and Austrian WW1 leather equipment like many of the Bulgarian soldiers in 1917-1918. During the war against Germany 1944-1945 the Bulgarian army used the same equipment exept the helmet, which was model 1936. Another differens was the shirt, which after 1936 was green. However some of the bUlgarian soldiers still had M16 German steel helmets (see the picture). So, only the white shirt was a barrier between me and a WW2 Bulgarian impression. smile.gif

The guy in the back of the tank is the best, covering his years, I believe that at the time the photo was taken a cannon was fired.

I belive that he was sure the tank was going to blow after being hit by our friend sturmpionier.
