Sunday, 10th of December 2006, the Bulgarian reenactors of the historical association “Traditsia”, have commemorate the Ottoman troops surrender in Pleven, 129 years ago. In front of the city authorities they have reconstructed the moment when Osman Pasha, wounded, has handled his sword to the Russian officers (General Ganetzki).

The real story says that Osman Pasha first met the Romanian troops and offered his surrender to Colonel Cerchez. The Romanian officer didn’t accept the sword because he was thinking that a senior commander/general should receive the Ottomans surrender.

In the Bulgarian reenacting scene the Romanians were missing but we hope that next year, when the Bulgarian colleagues intend to commemorate 130 years from that event, the Romanian reenactors will be more present.

The “6 Dorobantzes” association intends to participate with its all strength at this show.
