Does anyone have pictures of the new military orders and decorations of Romania?

Thanks!
Peace!

According to the current legislation the National History Museum and the National Military Museum should have each one copy of every badge of the new Romanian orders.

As far as I know the National History Museum is in a process of reorganisation with all the collections carefully packed, so only the National Military Museum might help you. Unfortunately they do not seem to have an e-mail address for contact (I would also be interested in obtaining one).

Other pics taken from eBay of the "For Merit Order"...
1.The COMMODORE (commander) grade (with two ribbons both for chest and for neck) with sizes 55x55mm (2x2 inches) silvered and gold plated and with white enamel.
2.The PLAQUE with sizes 80x80 mm (3x3 inches ; also silvered and gold plated) and white enamel can be hanged on a large scarf with 95 mm (4 inches) breadth which can be worn across the shoulder.
3.Two different lapel buttons.
4.Two other decorative items.

I am wondering if the description given by the seller of the items in these images is not erroneous. The size and the appearance of the badge in the first two images seem those of a Grand Cross war badge. It cannot be a Commander’s badge as these are smaller and worn on the neck. Therefore its association with a chest ribbon is misleading. Furthermore, the plaque or star of the order is always worn on the chest and therefore it cannot be hanged on the shoulder ribbon in the third image. I think that the images show in fact an unassembled set for a war Grand Cross of the Order for Merit and some extra ribbons for lower grades.

There are serious errors in the descriptions of the badges given by the seller on http://www.allromanianmedals.home.ro/socialist/ab.html.

Thus, a commodore's insignia is worn on the neck, while all the badges presented there have only chest ribbons. Furthermore, the normal commodore's badges have a special ring for the neck ribbon that seems to be missing for the items presented as commodore's badges. As for the ribbons, only the insignia described as "Commodore - war" has the correct ribbon of the order, even though it is not that of a war badge. In fact that particular item has the ribbon of a civilian knight of the order. The other two badges shown there have the ribbon of the Faithful Service Cross. And, as a further error, the lapel button shown in the image labelled "Commodore - war" is that of a civilian Grand Officer of the Faithful Service Order.

I may therefore say that the items presented there are not authentic insignia of the Faithful Service Order.

Here is the government's site on Orders and Medals... It has interesting images and data, but at many places biased (especially when talking of communist awards - the moron cannot be objective :blbl: ).
http://www.presidency.ro/departamente/Cancelaria-Ordinelor/Start!.htm

Also, you can find drawings of the new orders and medals of the actual Romanian Republic (actually, i think that most of them are really horrible -see for yourself! ).

Here's the new Order of Michael the Brave, 1st Class :

Dubious-looking wartime set of a commander of the Order for Aeronautical Virtue

user posted image
Source: Internet auction

The cross appears to be made according to the regulations of the order. The ribbon however is that of the peacetime Aeronautical Virtue Medal, purposely sewn to look like a commander's ribbon. Furthermore, the case with an unusual polygonal shape appears to be dark blue with dark red lining which is quite different from the official specifications.

Nowadays the State Mint (Monetăria Statului in Romanian) is a financially independent company owned by the state which has the monopoly of producing circulation coins and decorations.

You are probably referring to the Cross for Sanitary Merit established in 1913. The Order for Sanitary Merit illustrated above is said to continue the tradition of the Queen Mary's Cross Order established in 1917.
