Both of them look to me as they were railway workers, not army men. Gen. Dénes |

Hi Kevin, as Denes said, the gents from the first two pictures are railway workers. They are wearing following badges: http://img387.imageshack.us/my.php?image=b2co8.jpghttp://img148.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cfr1aue8.jpghttp://img385.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cfr1r1yb8.jpg |

Hallo b737, I knew they were train / rail workers, as I put C.F.R. in the thread title, I was trying to identify the insignia, many thanks for the info. Does the dage signify the job or is it a general badge for rail workers? Kevin in Deva |

Hi Kevin, the "Fruntas in intrecerea socialista" badge is a common badge awarded to all good workers! The CFR badge is rare ! It commemorates 20 years from the railway workers rebellion from 1933. I have 3 versions of this badge in my collection. There is also a medal that commemorates 25 years from the rebellion. http://img356.imageshack.us/my.php?image=41532771zy5.jpghttp://img166.imageshack.us/my.php?image=4ron2.jpg |
