Are there any burial mounds in Romania?

Yes, there are a lot of them, especially in Dobrogea, but also in other parts of the country (for example in Transilvania), at least this is what I know.

There are a few.
In Doborgea they are called "Curgan" and in the rest of the country they are called "Tumul".
If you look in Google Earth, you can see them as small round or oval dots in the middle of field of crops (usually they are not plouged and there are no crops on them.)
As an idea, you can see quite a few (I counted 8 in that general area) if you go in Google Earth to 44deg37'39.50 by 28deg30'35 West of Istria, in the Mihai Viteazu area near the border between counties Constanta and Tulcea.

Very interesting. Thank you for the details, Radub. The term "tumul" really helped with the google searches. There seem to be plenty of discoveries.

Corect me if I'm wrong but archeologs also use the term " Tel ".
