Hello, this is my very first post so I'd like to begin by greeting everyone.
I would really appreciate any informations about the 1'st Heavy Artillery Regiment (Regimentul 1 Artilerie Grea Moto) and its actions during 1941 and early 1944. My grandfather, Lt.Col® Patru Ghe. Ioan, served as an officer in this unit during the war (he was lieutenant at the time) and he left us some very precious and detailed material, both written (war diaries) and pictures but, unfortunatelly, only starting with march 1944 and until the end of that year. I've been able to follow the Regiment's steps from that point until the end of the war by means of Col. Dobriceanu's book "Dansul de foc al traiectoriilor", but gatherd very little information previous to March '44. My Grandfather got the Order of the Star of Romania for participating in the breaking of the Stalin Line and forcing the Nistru river under the 54 German Corps and that's about all I know from that period.
Of course I'll appreciate any other informations about 1'st Heavy Artillery Regiment, it's men and battles, even if it doesn't concern the blank period of my documents.
Thank you all for help.

Hello Gabriela,
Although it's not about the 1941-1943 time frame, I believe you'll be interested to follow the "Battle worth mentioning on this site" topic, in the "Western Front" forum from this site.

Thank you for the reply. I already left a comment on the topic you indicated. The discutions there were very interesting, indeed.
