I read this a while ago and it struck me as an incredibly ironic twist of fate:
The last AMERICAN soldier (officially reported) KIA in WWI, on the day of the armistice, was named HENRI GUNTHER.

I wonder if other countries recorded the names of their last soldier killed on 11/11/18, before the 11:11 armistice went into effect.

It would be interesting to find out their names...

By the way, today (Nov 11) is Veterans Day in the US, a holiday which pays tribute and commemorates all veterans from past (and current wars).

Please take a minute to reflect and say a brief prayer for all veterans who passed away - from all countries. Regardless of nationality, they gave their best and deserve our respect.
