Does anyone have some info on the length of Romania's borders with its neighbors before the start of WWI?

I din't find one exactly, but you might try to add the lengths: the Serbian border+Black Sea Coast+Bulgarian border+A-H. border+Russian border (of which the serbs, the sea and the russians are quite the same now) and the Austro-Hungarian you can find it when complaining about the huge attack front of Romanian army. Just do the maths... wink.gif

I didn't mean the total length of its borders. I was interested in the length of the borders with each of its neighbors. The one with Austria-Hungary being the "jewel" of them all (because it's difficult to use today's borders to make an approximateion). biggrin.gif

I'll try to calculate an approximate length on Monday at work.

I have approximated it at some 700-800 kilometers but if someone has a clear number that they found in some book/article/document, it would be more helpful than guesswork.

Sorry, I completely forgot about it.

Going on the borders of the current counties (minus the extension of Mehedinti beyond Orsova), the total length of the Austro-Hungarian Border with Romania was around 803 km.

On the Danube, the border with Bulgaria was 509 km (up to Oltenita, opposite which was Turtucaia). The length of teh border in the Cadrilater is unknown to me.

The border with the Russian Empire was around 600km.

This give us o total of 1300 km frontline. Is the same like entire Eastern front before the date Romania entered the war (1300 km) and superior to Western front (800 km).
