A photo, from my collection, showing a military parade, dated June 1936.

Is it possible that the much decorated high ranking oficer taking the salute is actually Ion Antonescu? To my eyes there is a seems to be a similarity.

I believe that in 1936 Antonescu was commanding the 3rd Infantry Division in Pitesti.

Alan in Bradford.

Cannot be Antonescu IMO - too chubby faced. Antonescu was indeed a short man, but he was very skinny.

That is a mountain troops unit the officer is saluting. In fact one can notice the "VM" [vanatori de munte] badge just above the waist on the right (his right)

Thanks for the clarification Alexei

Thanks also to the eagle eyed Victor for spotting the VM badge.

Another photo from my collection.

This one is inscribed on the reverse "25 October 1923, memories of Cetatea Alba".
A Naval officer flanked by two Infantry (Vanatori?) officers. The officer on the right wears the Semnul Distinctiv Pentru Schiori, also known as the Insignia de bun schior.

Here is a lt. of vanatori wearing the Crown of Romania Order in the 1920s. Probably one the Guard regiments.
