I have seen several wound badges and insignia. The one shown previous is the WW1 version. There are several private badges made in realations to vetereran organization and different invalid organizations. On the uniforms in both WW1 and WW2 a wound strip metal wire braided stripe was sewn to the center of the sleeve. What I have not seen and do not know if exists is an official wound badge for WW2. Was one ever produced ?

Hallo Gents biggrin.gif ,

I think this chap pictured has a wound stripe on his left sleeve, as well as the Romanian Cross of War with 3 battle-bars and the Romanian Inter-Allied Victory Medal.

I obtained the picture last week in Brasov.

As I know this badge was given to all wounded soldiers in the 1941 campaign.

hello,

thanks for your answers. I have a problem. I write articles about romanian decorations in a german magazine for orders and awards and I want to write an article about the both wound badges, but I need pictures of good shape wound badges, which I can use for the article. So who has the wound badges and can send me pictures? But i cannot use web sources, because I dont know if I may use them...

thanks
paul

Hello Everyone!

I just purchased this WWI wound badge. I have not received it yet, so this is the only photograph I can provide at this time.

Best regards,
Jason

I assumed it was a recent replacement. It looked to clean to be an original! biggrin.gif
