QUOTE (lancer_two_one @ September 29, 2008 11:49 am)
Within the marked area there are:
- the road that connects the base with Baraganu railway station,
- a small residential area on the same road known once as "technical NCO colony" (colonia maistrilor).
- the railroad that connects the base with the main line Bucharest- Fetesti.

There was/is no "old runway.

Indeed Lucian

South of your pic there is more to see.
The road leading northnorthwest almost is symmetrical with the road leading southsouthwest towards amo store and Borcea/Dunarea river.
More Romanian A.B. feature such decentralized dislocation of subunits off the landing strip.Compare the MeKa former amo store or Ianca, amo and fuel stores.
