Bf 109 G 6 "blue 10" was from a batch of new Bf 109G 6 ( mostly with erla canopy) received in july-august '44 as replacement for 7th FG. The new 7thFg unit emblem was adopted and painted on this Bf -109 G6's.

Cantacuzino,
Your ma men,
I have no words to thank you.I really appreciate your help.About the 109 G6 you also helped me out posting the fabulous "Blue 10",I really like this art work of Mr.Melinte.Now I'm looking a G2 or G4.Could you give me some ideas about this109G.For ex:
Was the upper side of the wing tip painted in yellow too?
The paint it seems to me RLM 74/75/76.
The emblem of the 7th FG was it painted on both side or only the left one?
And the most important issue for me is what was the camouflage pattern style on the wings and stabilizer of this "Gustav".I'll post some for e.g.Maybe I'll be lucky. One more thing and I'm done.Could you magnify the Sqd. emblem cause it's the most beautiful G I've ever seen.
Thanks for this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miki.

7th FG emblem was painted on both sides.

Hi, rolleyes.gif
Thanks for your help,I appreciated it.
Can you confirm that the spinner was all RLM70 as German planes have or was it painted 1/3 white and 3/4 RLM 70 dry.gif .I guess for the camouflage patterns on the upper area of the wing I'll have to improvise.Couldn't be everything perfect all the time. mad.gif
Anyway thank you for your help once more ,without it I'll be nowhere in this subject.

Multumesc,
Miki.................

I've seen only one photo of 'Blue 10', and that was taken on the so-called 'Western Front', in Sept. 1944. At that time, the propeller spinner appears to have been painted in two (possibly three) equal rings, the innermost ring being the darkest. No idea of the colours, however.
Also, I am not sure how much of the tricolour stripes were painted on the rudder. You can assume it was painted only on the top 1/3rd of the rudder surface.

Maybe it will help the wing pattern used on " Blue 1" from the same batch of 109 G6. When the picture was taken the painter just finished the fuselage number . The owner Lt.Dicezare was very happy with his new aquisition ( the girl not the Bf 109 biggrin.gif )

I can not confirm 100%. But my advice ist to paint all as standard RLM 70.
I don't think it could be 1/3 white and 3/4 RLM 70.

A few months ago, a profile photo of this plane wearing roundels was posted on the aviation section of the forum. I cannot find it now, but I have it saved on my hard drive at home. I recall that the tip of the spinner appeared a little lighter. That may be prop-blur. It may also be an overpainted light colour tip?

I found the picture on my hard disk.

That's the photo I was talking about earlier (the top one).

Notice the two (possibly three) rings on the spinner that appear the be painted in different shades, I've mentioned.

Hi denes,
The "ring" closest to the fuselage may be prop blur. There seems to be some colour variation at the tip though. If not three rings, there may be at least two.
Maybe a better photo will surface.
