Great-looking Order of the Iron Crown, it has such an "imperial" look. But the others are nice too.

QUOTE (dragos03 @ December 19, 2005 06:06 pm)
I only have these: a Karl Troop Cross and a Bronze Bravery medal (Karl II type), both on "bravery" ribbon.

It is Karl Troop Cross (Karl-Truppenkreuz) and Bronz bravery medal (emperor Karl I. type) - (Bronzene Tapferkeitsmedaille Kaiser Karl Ausgabe), both on ribbon for Karl Troop Cross (not "bravery" ribbon) ..
There can be Manufacturers mark on the edge of the Cross...

QUOTE (dragos03 @ December 17, 2005 03:27 pm)
It's a long service cross for enlisted men, for 6 years of service, awarded in the 1890-1913 period. The ribbon was black and yellow.

dragos03: Cross for 6. years service (Militärdienstzeichen für Unteroffiziere u. Mannschaften III. Klasse für 6 Jahre) was established after reorganization in year 1911, so it could not be awarded in years you wrote.. smile.gif

Hallo Iver,biggrin.gif

why would a cross such as a Karl Truppen Kreuz

which is fabricated in iron (early issue pieces)

or zink (late war issue pieces) carry a hallmark?

Hall marks are traditionally used on Gold or Silver objects.

New Connaught Ranger: In this case was ment "hallmark" as a mark of manufacturer, if it is not the correct word for it, I apologize....

Hallo Iver biggrin.gif

I believe the term you are searching for is Manufacturer's mark

if you use hallmark it is technically incorrect and will cause confusion.
