A friend of mine is looking for photos of the Bücker Bü 133 of Alex. Papana, registered YR-PAX - the personal mount of the famous Rumanian aerobat flyer.
Below are a few scans of this colourful bird.

In the original livery:

YR-PAX on its way to the USA in the belly of a Zeppelin:

A famous stunt of Papana, snatching a small US flag with his wingtip:

A curious mid-air shot of YR-PAX, wearing the swastika on its tail:

Probable a "retouche" picture (german propaganda ?). The original "Bucker Jungmeister" signatures are missing.

The photo was printed as a German postcard, so a propaganda aspect is plausible.

What about the colours of the airplane? Any thoughts?

as far as I know it was white, with the chequered red-white upper surface on the upper wing and some sort of red stripes or red rays on the below part of the lower wing.

I saw a picture showing this colours in a pre '89 era calendar; I believe it was the one with stories about Papana and "Draci Rosii" other info about romanian aviation.

After the war, Papana's Bu-133 YR-PAX reached the possesion of Beverly 'Bevo' Howard and was renamed to N15696(from http://www.bevhoward.com/Buecker.htm and http://www.airandspacemagazine.com/ASM/Air.../GMAH/bevo.html )

This is the way that the Bu-133 looks now:

I have also found these pictures:
the famous acrobacy, from: http://www.larrylowe.com/wac/Origins.html
(IMG:http://66.111.96.172/WAC/Art/Papana.jpg)
and from Fortele Aeriene Romane Website (http://www.airforce.go.ro)
(IMG:http://www.airforce.go.ro/Foto/Istorie/Ohio/papana.jpg)

OFFTOPIC Note: "Dracii Rosii" = "Red Devils" , romanian acrobatics trio, flying ICAR - Universal (acrobat), team composed of Petre Ivanovici/Mihail Pantazi/Maximilian Manolescu.

Does any of you know if is true that Bazu also flown his Bucker Bu-133 at airshows together with "Dracii Rosii"? (info present on Aeroclubul Romaniei)

I think the photo with svastika is from the period when the airplane was new.It is posible to be sold by the factory in this colours, only the registration number painted special for the owner.

Pascal, please mention the sources for the photos. You might also want to take a look at the Forum Rules (http://www.worldwar2.ro/forum/index.php?showtopic=27).
