@cipiamon:As chance has it I used exactly Abbyy FineReader, but the trial version I had only could export to .jpg files. Anyway I kind of like the end-result, whilst the pdfs are usually very "electronic" and sterile, these jpgs have a nice "vintage book" feel to them if you browse them full-screen in a picture-viewing program.

Anyway: it appears that imageshack.us has a 65 pics limit per gallery, so I exported the book into 2 galleries there - took me a solid couple of hours to finish, too.

The pics are of the pages of the book (2 pages per pic) and are in order left-to-right and up-to-down, in the order of the book's pages.
