There is an account in the Book written by Bryan Perrett about the German Army's capture of Turnu Severin in 1916 by a Armoured Car Unit.

There was a motorized task force led by Capt. Pitch. He had under his command 500 men: a battalion (four rifle companies) of the 148th Infantry regiment, three MG platoons, two antiaircraft guns (truck-mounted) for fire support, a few 2.5 ton heavy trucks, a radio detachment and a cavalry small unit from 10th Dragoons.

With this motorized unit Capt. Pitch fell in the rear of the Romanian Division defending The Iron Gate. The Romanians units abort their positions and withdrew.
