After August 1944, the Germans tried to create the Romanian government in exile. Leader was made Horia Sima from the fascist Iron Guard movement. By agreement with the H. Himmler the army of this government was to become the Romanian SS division, which was planned to form from immigrants - members of the Iron Guard.
In the autumn of 1944 at the landfill Döllersheim in Austria was initiated the formation of the Romanian SS division. By the beginning of 1945 they appeared two regiments: One Grenadier (Romanian number 1) and one tank destroyers (Romanian number 2), the men of the 3rd Regiment were used as reserve for part of the first two.
In March 1945, the Grenadier Regiment was sent to the Pomeranian sector of the front and subordinated to Army Group "Vistula". Taking part in defensive battles between Stettin and Schwedt, the regiment suffered heavy losses. In late March, it was retreated from the front for rest and completation, and April 13 by order of Himmler, joined the 3rd SS Panzer Corps. In the last days of the war the regiment was transferred to the 547. Volksgrenadier-Division, with which, apparently, and surrendered to Soviet (?) troops.

Soldat Group: Members Posts: 1 Member No.: 4006 Joined: August 21, 2017	Hello, I'm looking for information about actions of SS Grenadier Regiment 103 (rumänisches Nr 1) on Oderfront in 1945 in Kampfgruppe Schwedt. Are there any publications about this unit? The only info I've found was in documents of Heeresgruppe Weichsel. I'm also thinking about buying this book: Romanian Volunteers of the Waffen-SS 1944 – 1945 by R. Landwehr. Is it helpful in this topic? Thanks in advance. TZ
